Project-A 504: From Workshop Dream to European Roads

Project-A 504 is more than a car—it is a journey where every part assembled, every stitch pulled tight, every line redrawn tells the story of a timeless coupé, reimagined for today. It embodies elegance, performance, and the spirit of Provence, brought back to life for a new generation.

But passion alone is not enough. To see this dream take shape on Europe’s open roads, we must meet a demanding challenge: making the 504 restomod fully homologated and road-legal. It’s a path of tests, standards, and validations—yet one we gladly embrace, because only then can our vision come alive and turn the dream into motion.

To transform an icon is to push the boundaries of possibility: a heartbeat renewed with a modern engine, a stronger frame, sharper brakes, intelligent suspension, ABS and traction control… innovations that breathe new life into the legendary 504, turning it into a true grand tourer for the 21st century.

Yet with every evolution comes a question: how can such a reimagined machine find its place on today’s European roads while honoring the laws that govern them?

Here begins another chapter of the journey—less visible, perhaps, but just as thrilling: the path to homologation.

A rigorous, step-by-step path to homologation.

The homologation of a restomod such as Project-A 504 follows a precise process.

Step one: compiling the technical file—gathering official documents (original registration certificate, manufacturer’s certificate of conformity), detailing every modification, and presenting invoices, diagrams, and technical manuals.

Getting in touch with the authorities: In France, the DREAL oversees the compliance of modified vehicles. Across Europe, partners like TÜV Rheinland guide this journey, ensuring every step is on track.

Passing the tests: From safety and braking to emissions, electronic systems, and chassis strength—each component is scrutinized with precision, transforming a vision into a road-ready reality.

Securing the Individual Vehicle Approval (IVA / RTI): the ultimate certificate that unlocks the freedom to drive legally. It’s one path among others, but a crucial milestone in making the dream tangible.

Official registration: Once validated, the 504 receives its papers and can finally embrace the open road, carrying the spirit of its workshop craftsmanship into every journey.

A human and engineering journey

This process is far from a constraint—it reflects our philosophy: marrying authenticity with modernity, passion with precision. Each test passed, each approval granted, brings us one step closer to turning our vision into reality.

At Allure Provence, homologating the Project-A 504 is about more than compliance. It’s about giving our clients the freedom to drive safely and legally, while savoring the pride of piloting a true mechanical masterpiece—one that never compromises on elegance or performance.

Et demain ?

The weeks ahead mark a new chapter. After a summer devoted to rebuilding and reinforcing the chassis and bodywork, the autumn and coming months will bring a closer look at Project-A 504:

  • behind-the-scenes moments from its construction,
  • the technical milestones achieved along the way,
  • and, in time, the official opening of orders.

Because this project is more than a car—it’s a way of experiencing the automobile in Provence, where tradition, innovation, and the art of the open road come together. It’s this art of living that we aspire to share with you, and with the future owners of Project-A, carrying it forward around the world.

In summary

The European homologation of Project-A 504 unfolds alongside its mechanical and technological rebirth. It is a journey that demands patience, skill, and dedication—but it is what transforms a dream into reality.

Soon, we will share deeper insights into each stage of construction, and reveal the official date when orders open.

The road is laid out: from the heart of Provence to the highways of Europe, the story of Project-A 504 continues.
